My Ethical Approach

Protecting our precious oceans is really important and, for me, being ethical is the right thing to do.

When I'm sourcing garments for the Boat Cove blog shop I aim to be as environmentally friendly and as ethical as possible.

Environment friendly

  • I use recycled packaging and paper products and use a minimum amount of plastic packaging.
  • I try to source products with minimum shipping distances.
  • I recycle and reuse as much as I can.

Animal friendly

I have sourced animal cruelty-free garments that are made of PETA vegan certified material.

Organic inks

Garments are printed with water-based inks by a carbon-neutral company. The inks are:

  • GOTS certified organic
  • 100% water-based
  • Biodegradable
  • PETA vegan certified and contain no animal by-products
  • Certified as safe for children and babies
  • Printed with a waterless process so no water is wasted or polluted by inks
  • Toxin-free and free of heavy metals

Supporting the people who make our products

I try to source garments that are ethically made.

I've sourced garments that are FAIR WEAR ethically sewn, which means the manufacturing complies with ethical labour practice standards.

I've also sourced garments that are WRAP certified, which means the manufacturing is independently monitored and certified compliant with the WRAP standards, ensuring that the sewn products has been produced under safe, lawful, humane, and ethical conditions.

I try to be as open and transparent as possible. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how Boat Cove garments are manufactured.
